Help us fill Easter Baskets!

Easter is fast approaching! The Board of Community and World Service would love to help provide a filled Easter basket to the many deserving children that are in need through our local DCF. We will have baskets available in the front foyer (Narthex) to pick up and fill as a family or we could build them with your donations. [ more ]

Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper and Pancake Flipping Races

The Annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper, sponsored by our Deacons, will be held on Tuesday, March 5. It is always a festive evening, starting with delicious pancakes and sausage. Then the fun really began with the Pancake Flipping races! [ more ]

Spring Rummage Sale--May 2, 3 and 4

Thursday, May 2, Friday, May 3 and Saturday, May 4--The Semi-Annual Rummage Sale will be held on Thursday, May 2 and Friday, May 3 opening at 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and  Saturday, May 4 opening at 9:00 a.m. until noon.  Donations will be accepted beginning on Monday, April 22.

The 2018 Church Fair was a Wonderful Success

November 30 and December 1, 2018-- The "Home for the Holidays" Church Fair was a wonderful success! Thanks to the efforts of so many volunteers who organized, planned, cooked, baked, set-up, cleaned-up, sold, created crafts, provided music...the list goes on and on...the two days were full of joyful spirit. A Commemoration of the 100th Anniversary to the End of WWI

November 10, 2018 -- The First Congregational Church presented a special commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of the ending of World War I at 7 p.m. on Saturday, November 10 in the sanctuary.  [ more ]

All Hallow's Eve 2018

October 31, 2018 -- On a beautiful Halloween evening, with scores of families streaming by our front door, members of the Music Committee served warm apple cider, and spooky music wafted over the sidewalks. [ more ]

Books and Beyond 2018-2019

Books and Beyond, our monthly book club group, will meet on the fourth Tuesday of each month through May.  Anyone interested in books and great conversation is welcome to join us! [ more ]

We Celebrate Jeanette Gross's 25 years of Music Ministry

October 14, 2018 -- Our Minister of Music, Jeanette Gross, has served The First Congregational Church of Wallingford for 25 years.  This milestone was celebrated in style--and as a big surprise--on Sunday, October 14.  The choir planned special music and fun presentations. [ more ]

A Festival of Arts and a Celebration of the Creative Spirit was held at the First Congregational Church of Wallingford on Saturday and Sunday, October 13 and 14, 2018.  Members and friends of our church family a shared in a celebration of the creative spirit as we turned Congregational Hall into a wonderful display space for works of art in all mediums... Celebrate Wallingford a Great Success!

October 6-7--Celebrate Wallingford. For the first time, our church participated in this year's Celebrate Wallingford, the festival which takes place in the center of town, right outside our front door.  With the support of our church members, it was a great success. [ more ]

Wallingford Workcamp 2018--A Blessed Experience

The 2018 Wallingford Workcamp was an amazing experience to all who participated--from the youth from around the country, to the people who were served, to the members at First Church who planned and implemented extensive preparations, as well as many Wallingford businesses and community members who donated their time, treasure, expertise and unbelievable amount of effort. Wallingford was blessed by all who participated in so many different ways--thank you. [ more ]
