Music at First Church

The church has very active music programs for adults and youth, a handbell choir, and a praise band.

There are opportunities for adults, children and youth to offer music together.  Anyone is welcome to join our choirs. You do not need any experience singing in choirs or reading music.

If you enjoy singing, give a choir a try! We'd love to have you!

As well as singing regularly for Sunday worship, the adult choir offers a Choral Sermon twice a year.

The children and youth occasionally perform musical plays as part of Sunday worship. Any children in pre-K through Grade 8 are welcome to join our musical programs. No experience is needed.

We have also produced Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Godspell, The Sound of Music, Fiddler on the Roof and The Wizard of Oz, drawing on the talents of the entire congregation.

We have two organs and two grand pianos in the sanctuary. The primary organ, an Aeolian Skinner, was rebuilt in 1963 after a sanctuary fire.  A baroque organ was a memorial gift in 1972 and was built and installed by the Casavant Company in the rear balcony.
