350th Anniversary Silver Tea and Bridal Dress Show

As part of our 350th Anniversary, and to celebrate a part of our social history, we had a wonderful Silver Tea and Bridal Dress show. This was a lovely event, complete with tea sandwiches, scones, fabulous desserts and of course, tea.

There were beautiful wedding dresses on display, one from each decade from the 1920's to the 2020's, contributed by members of the congregation.

There was a great selection of teapots, old family wedding photos through the years, and some fancy lace hats.

The attendees enjoyed conversationa and fellowship as they sampled the treats.

Wallingford historian, Bob Beaumont, gave an interesting presentation on wedding traditions and trends and how they have changed. He also shared some history of Wallingford silver.

Thanks to the team who put it all together--the food was as delicious as it was pretty, the dress display was so beautiful, and thanks to Bob Beaumont for his insights about wedding history.  It was a great day!
